The best hamburgers in Tempe. There is nothing in Tempe that even comes remotely close. Everything here is fabulous. I love the bar for all of the fixin's. and I like that you can watch them cook your food. Also they have so many great things besides hamburgers. Their chicken sandwich is some of the best. And their fries are awesome. Definitely a place that you have to check out if you like charbroiled burgers in Tempe

If you find this review useful please like it.I was told to come here and eat the best burger around on the way to spring training. Well I couldn't find anything to complain about service is quick fast prices are excellent and the quality is very good the owner was sitting on a stool by the cash register made it even more personable I would recommend everyone to come and be here at least once.

We work in the area. We were driving to The Chuckbox and a contractor said that it sure smells good when he passes by, and I told him that it tastes just like that. On our way back, he told me that I was not lying and that it was fantastic. Outstanding every time.

Great "cash-only" burger joint. Very simple with no frills but they get the burgers right!! All the burgers are a great value and large and filling. Perfect spot for a burger. Will definitely come back again and again.

Absolutely delicious! Love the way they give you the Patty hot in the bun but don't put the condiments on it rather they give condiments cold separately in bags and sealed cups which allows the burger to stay hit until you get it home and build it yourself! Brilliant!

Excellent burgers... There is some parking outside even though it's so close to Mill.I would eat the big one and the great big one are the best giving the juicy burger taste, the guacamole bacon burger was alright - you won't get the taste of meat ( if you know what I'm talking about ) The service is great, prices are very decent and they only accept cash. During weekdays the place is swamped for lunch...:)

Just an awesome burger joint. The portions were large and prices fair. Loved the atmosphere and it’s so cool that they cook the burgers over and open fire. Condiment bar is a great idea too! Will definitely come back here!

Always a great place, following all the precautions from Covid. Served in a timely manner. Burger was as good as it's always been. We'll be back

Feels like a backyard BBQ and with the food to match! You will have to wait a little for the food that is cooked to order on the open flames but it may just be worth the wait for you. Overall tasty grub in a little spot in the middle of the ASU campus.

Wow, I had heard the burgers were good but was blown away by the rich flavor of the hamburger meat. The fries were golden and crispy with just the right amount of salt. All that delicious food for less than $10 bucks is a big win for me!I can't wait to go back.

Burgers are the best I've ever tasted and the beer battered mushrooms were delicious. It's CASH only but there's an ATM inside.The major issue: It was my first time visiting and the owner/person in charge seemed annoyed with any questions, acted as if he was doing me a favor by answering. The system is also confusing for a first time customer.

Chuckbox is one of the best tasting burgers out there! Be sure to bring cash as they dont take credit cards! The beer battered onion rings are excellent. And the condiment bar helps you finish off your meal. They offer free refills on soda and have beer and root beer although there are no refills on those like most restaurants. I highly suggest stopping here and having a burger and enjoying it thoroughly .....always when I’m in the area I make a point to stop here

This place is worth visiting. They have large portions for convenient prices. Regularly well kept and with great character. Will come visit again.

Amazing burgers! They cook the food in front of you when you order. Great experience, and you sit on boxes. Cash Only but they do have an ATM. They kind of holler to you to get your order as you're in line so you should know what you want. It's usually very busy and parking is difficult. It's cafeteria style so they cook your burger and then you get a tray and can pick your beverage. They serve beer and wine and soda and do take tips. You pay after you get your drinks and then you go to the island to get condements - burger toppings, napkins & cutlery, then you sit where you like. No table service but you can have someone sit at a table to save it.

One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had! My boyfriend put it best, "this place is like Burger King if they sold real food", definitely coming back here for burgers!

The first time I had Chuckbox was in 2007 and loved it. Been coming here ever since and not once has this place let me down.

The burgers were pretty good although they lacked flavor and were a little too cooked for my liking BUT you can ask them to cook it how you like. Meat was thinner than I expected as well - sadly it's mostly all buns - but at least the prices were good. It's worth trying if you're in Tempe!

I got the The Big Juan - (labeled as the pride and joy) good and homestyle. Nothing spectacular, meet had a good flavor and bun was super good. Interesting atmosphere and ordering style. Cool tables with baskets as benches. Nobody really looks happy to work here though, parking was surprisingly easy for being downtown ~$5.29, $2.26 friesOn another visit I got the Tijuana Torpedo - the mix of grilled meat and green Chile is great. A lot of burger but a lot of good burger. The bun is pretty disappointing though. It’s thin and it gets soaked pretty quickly. Onion rings were fantastic. $6.70, $3.18 onion rings.

Absolutely AMAZING mesquite flame grilled burgers! Wow! We also had the beer batter zucchini and chuckbox fries. Atmosphere was fantastic and love outside seating..... UPDATE: we visited again today August 2020 and they have a pandemic setup. Food excellent but employees are not friendly and engaging as before. Drill sergeant attitude towards masks (we were standing 20 FEET back and barked at to out on masks) CDC states if you CANNOT maintain 6 feet distance from others to wear a mask. Mind you it is 108 degrees outside and we value your food enough to stand in the sweltering heat, get an Uber specially to your restaurant, spending $32 just to get here and back. We will come back because your food is excellent but we hope your attitude towards your customers does not stay like it was today. As a nation we are letting fear kill our joy.

Good food! A little confusing as to where you get your food from but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Love the surface area available for that charcoal effect to give the best taste. Facility clean and staff welcoming.

Old West design and a real charcoal fire grill. You can watch them cook your fresh ground beef patty or chicken breast right in front of you. I love the choose-your-own toppings bar. It is cash only, but there is an ATM inside. I recommend it if you like grilled burgers cooked over smoke and flames.

Nice drive by hamburger spot. You can grab your burger to go or eat inside. Very nice low-key area

Okay, so this place is weird. They don't accept any payment except cash, so they do things different. The cook was sick and was still grilling burgers which was off. The fixings bar, includes all the toppings but you can get any of those on the grill. The set up is a little cheesy also. The burger was OK at best. Would not eat there again

Terrific. Not fancy just fantastic. You can tell right away why they have won best burger awards over and over. Grilled over real mesquite coals, you can tell they do it right.

Best burger you’ve ever had. Such a unique taste and experience. You will love it. I drive 30 miles to come eat here all the time
